Mornington Peninsula Shire is seeking an experienced Public Art Lead to deliver public art projects and programs and manages public art assets across the peninsula. The Public Art Lead delivers public art projects and programs and manages public art assets, contributing to vibrant, engaging public spaces through creative, high-quality artworks and activations that deliver lasting cultural value for the community.
Reporting to the Coordinator Arts and Heritage, the core responsibilities include:
• Development and delivery of temporary and permanent public art projects
• Building and maintaining relationships with artists, community, industry experts, and internal and external stakeholders
• Providing subject matter expertise and guidance about public art on capital works infrastructure projects
• Oversee the cataloguing, access and maintenance of the public art collection to industry standards

About You
• Tertiary qualification in visual arts, art history, or relevant related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in public art project delivery and project management
• Demonstrated strong writing skills for documentation of research, preparation of reports, correspondence, prepromotion and project documentation
• An understanding of public art collection management principles and procedures
