Murray

The Murray Network was established in 2014 as a way to combat the unique cross-state problems, and embrace the benefits, that occur between Local Government Areas on either side of the Murray River.

We welcome individual and organisational AMaGA members from AlburyCity, City of Wodonga, Federation Council, Greater Hume Shire, Indigo Shire, and Towong Shire. While we primarily focus on offering resources and support to these members, we are very happy for those outside these council areas to join our network.

Statement of purpose

The AMaGA Murray Network is a cross-border group whose members aim to share skills, resources, and information that will enhance the development of museums and galleries within the six participating Local Government Areas in the Murray Region. It provides a forum for the discussion of opportunities and issues faced by volunteers and professionals in the museum and gallery sector. It facilitates networking, the sharing of current projects and access to training and professional development.

How to get involved

We meet three to four times a year at a member museum to catch up, tour the host museum, discuss the new and exciting projects happening in our museums, and work together to seek opportunities and combat issues. We work with member museums to promote workshops and events, and keep members informed of programs that might be of interest to them.

If you have any questions or you’d like to find out when our next meeting is, please email [email protected]

You can join the network online when logged in via the button below. There is a small fee payable annually with your membership to join the network. These funds will be used to support future events and programs.
