Emerging Professionals

AMaGA National Networks bring together groups of members who share particular areas of professional practice or common interests.

In response to the growing demand for targeted programs for early-career professionals, AMaGA created a network for emerging professionals in 2017.

What is the network?

The aim of the network is to facilitate career growth through networking and professional development opportunities. The network will provide information and support for employees, volunteers, and students in the earlier years of a GLAM-related career throughout Australia.

What can members expect from the network?

The network intends to offer a range of networking and professional development opportunities, including:

mini conference/sponsored sessions as part of the annual National Conference;
a conference bursary program;
website/Facebook/blog that serves as a forum and ideas hub for professionals entering the GLAM sector;
lightning talks program;
informal catch ups and networking opportunities; and,
an AGM.

How can I get involved?

Joining the network
You can join the network online when logged in via the button below.

The network operates with the support of AMaGA. Although there are no age restrictions or limits on joining this group, in accordance with the AMaGA Constitution and By-Laws, all members of national networks must be current members of AMaGA.

There is a small fee payable annually with your membership to join the network. These funds will be used to support future events and programs.

How else can I contribute?
Perhaps you have ideas for an event, mad web or graphic design skills that you think might help the network or access to venues? If so we’d love to hear from you! We are also always looking for committee members who can help with expanding our footprint and raising our voice.
