Australian Museums and Galleries Association, Queensland (AMaGAQ) is the Queensland branch of AMaGA, delivering the state’s membership services.
From 1998 to 2004 Australian Museums and Galleries Association, Queensland (AMaGAQ) and Public Galleries Queensland (PGQ) operated a highly successful partnership program. Out of this partnership grew Museums & Galleries Queensland (M&G QLD), the peak professional body for Queensland’s public museum and gallery sector. Australian Museums and Galleries Association, Queensland and Public Galleries Queensland are the company’s sole members.
M&G QLD works to promote, support and provide services to foster excellence in museums, galleries and keeping places.
Programs and services include the areas of sector development; training and professional development; information and advice; exhibition development and touring; and by promoting the achievements of Queensland galleries and museums.
AMaGAQ works to build links with our sister association Public Galleries Queensland (PGQ) and M&G QLD through joint meetings to discuss partnered activities and joint membership promotions.
AMaGAQ continues to improve links and communication across the museum and gallery sector by increasing its online and social media presence and through the support of bursary and sponsorship opportunities.

Bursaries
AMaGAQ offers professional development activities in the form of Individual Bursaries.
The bursaries are available for individual gallery/museum volunteers as assistance to attend seminars, conferences or courses.
The bursary can be used towards registration fees, associated workshop fees, travel, accommodation and living expenses during the period of the conference.
Amount: Up to $500
Eligibility: Open to current AMaGAQ members, member museum and galleries and their paid and volunteer staff.
