Membership
The Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) connects over 1,200 individuals and organisations across Australia. Membership provides access to national networks, sector news, professional development, advocacy support, funding alerts, and discounted rates for conferences and events.
Membership runs for 12 months from the date of joining or renewal. All prices are in AUD and include GST.

Organisation Membership
Organisation fees are based on your annual operating budget, found in your annual report or on the ACNC Charity Register.

Volunteer Workers Insurance
Provided through Gallagher, AMaGA's endorsed insurance broker. Covers all voluntary workers (including committee members) up to age 95, both on-premises and offsite.
- Annual premiums from $56.70
- Death & Capital Benefit: $50,000 (up to age 85); $10,000 (over age 85)
- Both membership and insurance premium must be current for cover to apply

ICOM Reciprocal Discount
AMaGA individual members with an existing ICOM (International Council of Museums) membership receive a reciprocal discount on their AMaGA membership. ICOM membership is separate and managed through ICOM Australia: [email protected]
ICOM membership runs on a calendar year (January–December) with no pro-rata fees. All members must agree to the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums.
