Alex started as National Director in March 2015 but has been involved with the association at a Branch and National Council level for many years. Alex is a design thinker and cultural heritage advocate and adviser, with a diverse background in public policy, strategic design and cultural heritage methodologies. Her interests and experience are in heritage, policy and all forms of cultural management.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours History) from the University of Adelaide, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Museum Studies from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Management from the Australian National University. Trained as an historian, she has worked in museums, the non-government sector, heritage agencies including ten years as Director of the Historic Environment at the Australian Heritage Commission, and key national public policy departments, including eight years at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Lee has worked for AMaGA since 2009 and was previously involved in the New England North West Chapter. Lee has qualifications in museum studies, archaeology and paleoanthropology, and business admin, and has worked and volunteered with regional and community museums.
