The MAP mima Curator and Operations Coordinator is responsible for the development of a diverse and innovative program including the presentation of digital art installations, performances and music at the Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima (MAP mima) and will oversee the day-to-day operations including corporate/community hire.
The Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima (MAP mima) is a versatile space for digital art and performance in Speers Point Park. This role will support artists, performers and other groups deliver programs and events that utilise the venues embedded technology. You will develop and manage a curated program of performances, multi-media exhibitions, screenings, workshops and other programs.
MAP mima is striking and unusual – designed to showcase digital interactive art works inside and open out into a stage in the park. The building is embedded and surrounded by public artworks including a play sculpture by artist SannĂ© Mestrom, an interactive soundscape, an augmented reality landscape and light installations. Inside is an immersive 360-degree projection space wtith artists creating new video works through a residency program and annual commission. MAP mima also hosts art and technology workshops and can be hired for private events.
