The Curator, Centre of Democracy, is responsible to the Senior Curator, Digital for contributing to the development and maintenance of exhibitions, public programs, collections management, websites, social media, and education for the Centre of Democracy.

Key components of the role:

  • Contribute to, and assist with the design, development and delivery of exhibitions and public programs at the Centre of Democracy for a broad audience.
  • Conduct and disseminate research regarding the history of South Australian democracy, including archival, object, audio-visual and digital sources.
  • Work collaboratively with the HTSA education team to contribute digital content in support of education programs.

Qualifications:

Essential: Degree in History, Museum Studies, or related field.

Special Conditions:

Some out of hours work may be required. Occasional weekend work may be required. Engagement in this role is subject to a satisfactory Department of Human Services Working with Children Check. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.  The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years once commenced in the role.

This is a Part-time contract role (0.7 FTE), initial 12-month term contract.
