The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PSL 6 Digital Content Curator within the Art Collections section.

The Art Collections within Parliament House are nationally significant collections consisting of more than 6,500 works spanning all genres of Australian art. The collections were created to be an essential element of the building’s architectural fabric reflecting the unique qualities of Australia. They include:

Historic Memorials Collection
Architectural Commissions
Gifts Collection
Rotational Collection of contemporary and Indigenous artworks
The Art Collections Section is responsible for the custody, care, development, and promotion of the Parliament House Art Collections.

This role will provide curatorial advice and services for digital projects and develop new interpretive content that is published and delivered across multiple platforms to deepen and grow audience engagement with the APH art collections.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead curatorial projects, including presenting high-quality online exhibitions and associated digital engagement projects within a cultural institution or similar organisation.
  • demonstrated experience in web publishing and developing online content in a gallery, museum or similar organisation, as well as tertiary qualifications in in Visual Arts, Museum and Heritage Studies, Australian history, Political science and research, or a similar field.
