The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for PSL5 level staff to undertake the roles of Collections Management Officer, Projects Coordinator, Conservation Officer and Programs Coordinator in the Art Collections section.
DPS are responsible for a wide range of services and facilities, working closely with the Department of the Senate, the Department of the House of Representatives and the Parliamentary Budget Office to support the operations of the Parliament and its Committees.
The Art Collections within Parliament House are nationally significant collections consisting of more than 6,500 works spanning all genres of Australian art. It was created to be an essential element of the building’s architectural fabric reflecting the unique qualities of Australia. The collections include:
•Historic Memorials Collection
•Rotational Collection of contemporary and Indigenous artworks
The Art Collections Section is responsible for the custody, care, development and control of the Parliament House Art Collections.
These roles oversee the art services to the Parliament and contribute to a range of projects supporting the delivery of engagement, collection care, digitisation and project works. A key part of these roles will be to contribute to the delivery of section projects and the development and implementation of appropriate documentation, procedures and policies for the management of the Parliament House Art Collections.
The successful candidates will need to have demonstrated experience in similar roles as well as high level organisational, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Candidates selected for interview may be asked to undertake a practical exercise as part of the selection process.
