The Department of Parliamentary Services is recruiting for Visitor Concierge and Retail Support (VCRS) Officers. This is a Bulk Recruitment Round with multiple positions available including fulltime, part time and casual position within the Visitor Services Section of the Parliamentary Engagement Branch (PEB).
A VCRS Officer is responsible for assisting with the day to day visitor interactions and may assist with tasks or work in one or more of the following areas; the Main Front Pass Issue Desk (MFPID), Event Concierge; PEB retail outlets, Visitor Cloaking, the School Hospitality and Education area and Australian Parliament House (APH) event pass printing and dissemination.
Your role will be to provide concierge and retail assistance as directed to support the operation of the section, PEB and the broader APH. Your work day will involve all aspects of customer service and retail services including building and maintaining relationships with other parliamentary departments within APH to deliver customer related outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be well presented and enjoy working in a team environment and be able to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
DPS are looking for candidates that:
- have relevant experience and the ability to continually assess and reassess the operational needs of a customer focused delivery section and can embrace new technology to meet customer expectations
- have a skill set that includes the ability to make sound decisions in line with departmental policy and be a person who enjoys being in the spotlight as you may be called upon to professionally represent APH on camera for tourism promotions
- may come from a Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Government or similar industry where procedure, customer service and thinking on your feet are a normal part of your daily routine
- are wanting to take on a challenge and make your next career move by taking up a unique opportunity within a Commonwealth Government Department
This position is primarily Monday to Friday however some weekend and public holiday work maybe required on a business needs basis. Successful applicants may be offered other positions that require work over a 7 day rotating roster which includes weekend work and public holidays.
