ACT Historic Places (ACTHP) is seeking to establish a pool of Visitor Experience Hosts to join our Visitor and Commercial Services team in a casual capacity. We're looking for enthusiastic customer-experience or visitor-experience-oriented professionals with the skills to provide quality visitor experiences across our three sites - Lanyon Homestead, Calthorpes’ House and Mugga Mugga Cottage.

You will have the ability to engage visitors ‘on the hop’ and without a script in hand, to bring our historic homes to life. We value team-work, a can-do attitude, and proactivity in identifying tasks that make our workplace effective and efficient. On any given day, you could be delivering a program to school students, giving a guided tour of the house to a family, helping out at a major event, looking for visitors onsite for whom you can engage with or even cleaning our public spaces to ensure we are presentable and safe.

An interest in, and an understanding of historic houses is desirable.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: It is advised that if you do not have a current Working with Vulnerable People card, please apply so as to ensure you are able to start immediately. Those with experience with school groups are encouraged to apply (but not imperative to have this experience). Some sites run programs that include a lot of walking. A current driver's licence is essential.

Note: This is casual position and is offered initially as a 12 month contract with the view to renew thereafter at 12 month periods. The salary advertised will be paid as a casual rate of $37.46 per hour.
