The Department of Parliamentary Services are recruiting for a fulltime ongoing PSL3 - Team Leader for our Visitor Concierge and Retail Support (VCRS), within the Visitor Engagement Section of the Parliamentary Engagement Branch (PEB).

The Team Leader for our VCRS is responsible for managing a diverse workforce of VCRS officers who are part of the public face of Australian Parliament House (APH). VCRS officers play an important role in welcoming a diverse range of visitors to Parliament House which includes international visitors, event guests as well as guests of Government Officials.

VCRS officers provide a range of services that include greeting visitors and providing a welcoming atmosphere, retail sales, cloaking, signing in of invited guests, event pass production, escorting invited guests around APH and other front of house related functions.

Your role will be implementing management processes and activities to support the operation of the section, PEB and APH. Your work day will involve staff management, problem solving, implementing strategic workforce planning, rostering, training and building relationships with other parliamentary departments within APH to deliver customer related outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be a natural leader and innovator, be well-presented, enjoys working in a team environment and being able to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

If you have staff managerial experience and the ability to continually assess and reassess the operational needs of a customer focused delivery section to embrace new technology and continual change to meet customer expectations. Your skill set should include the ability to make sound business decisions in line with departmental policy and be a person who enjoys being in the spotlight as you may be called upon to professionally represent APH on camera for tourism promotions.
