The Museum Collections Officer is responsible for the care, documentation and processing of AlburyCity’s Museum Collection, including research, cataloguing, digitisation, condition reporting, storage, and object handling.
•Undertake cataloguing and digitisation of AlburyCity’s Museum Collection.
•Assist in the provision of care, conservation and access to the AlburyCity Museum Collection and undertake general administration duties associated with collection management.
•Provide detailed and thorough research on collection items and potential acquisitions.
•Ensure that preventative conservation, pest management programs and storage standards are maintained and monitored, including developing cleaning schedules.
•Develop and implement small exhibitions and displays as directed.
•Assist with the installation and de-installation of exhibitions as required.
•Provide high quality customer service including research based public enquiries and regular shifts on the LibraryMuseum information desk.
•Undertake object handling and condition reporting.
•Undertake the movement, display and storage of collection items.
•Assist with the monitoring and security of exhibitions, the AlburyCity Museum Collection and the offsite collection storage facility.
