Bendigo Art Gallery is an institution of national significance with a reputation for presenting bold and creative exhibitions and curatorial programs. It is recognised as an outstanding contributor to the social, cultural and economic fabric of Greater Bendigo and continues to be a point of pride for the community.
The City of Greater Bendigo is now seeking a talented, creative and experienced leader to continue to foster a culture of excellence and further the Gallery’s position within and beyond the Australian cultural sector.
As Director, you will have the opportunity to lead a progressive regional gallery at a time where Greater Bendigo is rapidly expanding and embarking on a new strategy for the arts and creative industries. As a visionary leader, you will have a proven track record of developing outstanding programs that attract and engage diverse audiences. You will bring a distinct curatorial vision that will enable the Gallery to strengthen its reputation as an innovative and leading gallery across the nation.
Supported by a highly talented and ambitious team, you will provide leadership and professional development to ensure the Gallery remains a workplace conducive to professional growth. Demonstrated advanced stakeholder management and communication skills are essential and you should be able to confidently build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. These relationships include Bendigo Art Gallery Board arts and education institutions, existing and potential philanthropic donors and all tiers of government.
