The Department of Parliamentary Services is recruiting for fulltime, part-time and casual PSL 2 - Visitor Services Officers - Affirmative measures, within the Visitor Services section, Parliamentary Experience branch.
Visitor Services Officers (VSOs) are the public face of Australian Parliament House (APH). They play an important role in welcoming a diverse range of visitors to Parliament House every year which includes large school groups, international visitors, as well as guests of Government Officials and VIPs.
VSOs complete up to four tours a day, providing informative presentations across a number of different locations in Parliament House. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and enjoy presenting in the public environment with a diverse range of audiences. They will be well-presented and enjoy working in a team environment and on an individual basis.
VSOs are required to work over a 7 day roster which includes weekend work and public holidays. Some mid-week positions may be offered.
To be considered under the Affirmative Measures, evidence of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island Australian heritage will be required.
Please Note: This recruitment process will be used to fill current Visitor Services Officers vacancies. A merit pool may be established and candidates successfully placed on the merit pool may be offered future roles within 12 months of the Gazettal date.
