Canberra Glassworks is seeking a flexible and supportive arts administrator who has experience working primarily in glass to help coordinate our Artist Access program. This includes administering and developing systems for equipment, accommodation and facility hires, coordinating Artist in Residence programs and facilitating inductions to the facility. They will also assist with administration of the annual exhibition program. Reporting to the Artistic Director, they will work closely with other members of the team. They should be an excellent communicator, confident in using glass making equipment and facilities and willing to support and work collaboratively with artists.

This position would suit a confident, outgoing person with good people skills who is passionate about glass, committed to supporting artists and contributing to the development of Canberra Glassworks. They must be a team player with arts administration experience, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the arts.

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience)
Hours: Part-time 30.4 hours per week (Tuesday to Friday)
Start date: March 2019
Term: 12 months (with 12 month option)

Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Artistic Program Coordinator will:
• Coordinate the Artist Access program including hiring and booking administration using the new online booking system Rezdy for artists to use the facility, equipment, space and studios;
• Conduct and administer artist inductions and engage in all other related tasks to ensure that artists are working according to Canberra Glassworks Work Health and Safety and risk management requirements;
• Actively engage with Canberra Glassworks hirers and studio artists and coordinate monthly clean up and bi-monthly Artist Access meetings;
• Provide all relevant information for finance staff to administer invoicing and payments for the Artist Access programs;
• Coordinate the Artist in Residence programs including call-outs, contract administration, inductions and facility and equipment hires;
• Assist the Artistic Director with the development and presentation of the exhibition program including liaising with artists, scheduling, exhibition administration, condition reporting, documentation, installation and de-installation;
• Provide Artist Access information and images for marketing and promotional purpose including the website;
• Support the delivery of other Artistic Programs as required by the Artistic Director;
• Other duties as required

• A proven commitment to supporting artists and providing excellent artist access to Canberra Glassworks;
• Demonstrated experience and a high level of competency in using the Canberra Glassworks facilities and equipment (or similar);
• Demonstrated track record in arts administration and/or project management within a small team in a similar working environment;
• Evidence of strong communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, experience in collaborating with artists and a commitment to customer service philosophy;
• Demonstrated experience in using relevant IT programs which may include Microsoft Office Suite, Access Database, PowerPoint, Social Media platforms and the ability to be trained in the Rezdy booking system etc;
• Demonstrated ability to manage work priorities in high-pressure situations and with limited resources.

• Demonstrated training and achievement as an artist working primarily in glass
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant experience
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current ACT Drivers Licence (Manual)
