The Museums Australasia Multimedia and Publication Design Awards is an annual celebration that acknowledges excellence and quality in design of publications and multimedia produced for the museums and galleries sector across Australia and New Zealand. The MAPDAs are sponsored by Australian Book Connection.

The innovation and creativity displayed in all of the entries continue to astound and inspire our judges – and above all else, it shows how we continue to look for new ways of telling our stories and sharing experiences with our communities. As always, there were some hard decisions to make, which only reflects how outstanding the work produced by the cultural sector continues to be despite current challenges.

In a time where many of us are working remotely, there is the threat of compounding health and natural disasters, and there are ever more financial restrictions on the work you do, it is impressive and inspiring to see work of such extremely high standards as those of this year's finalists.
