Australia Council Grants for Individuals – The Australia Council offers a wide variety of grants throughout the year to support the work and professional development of individuals artists and arts workers.
Australia Council Fellowships – Funding of $80,000 to support outstanding, established artists’ creative activity and professional development for a period of up to two years. Applicants must be a practicing artist or arts worker and an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident.
AusArt Fellowship – The American Friends of the National Gallery of Australia, in partnership with the American Australian Association, offers Australian Masters and Post Graduate students the opportunity to apply for an annual AusArt Fellowship. The USD$30,000 Fellowship offers artists, curators, art historians, administrators, academics and conservators the opportunity to further their chosen field of study at an American university, educational institution or museum.
Australian Cultural Fund – A fundraising platform for Australian artists managed by Creative Partnerships Australia.
Australian Research Council National Competitive Grants Program – supporting the highest quality fundamental and applied research and research training.
Australian Scholarships Foundation – Scholarships and opportunities for individuals working in the not-for-profit sector.
Churchill Fellowship – An annual funding opportunity to travel overseas for between four to eight weeks to conduct research into a topic that you are passionate about and have experience in. Australian citizens over 18 years can apply.
Creative Partnerships Australia – Assistance for Australian artists and arts organisations to attract and maintain support from the private sector
- Plus1: dollar-for-dollar matched funding for fundraising campaigns by arts and cultural organisations.
- MATCH: dollar-for-dollar matched funding for crowdfunding campaigns by independent artists and groups.
National Library of Australia Creative Fellowships and Scholarships – A range of fellowships and scholarships for researchers, writers and artists are available through the National Library.
- National Library of Australia Fellowships – for advanced research by scholars to help contribute to the greater public understanding of the collection.
- Creative Arts Fellowships – for practising writers and artists to develop new work creatively using or inspired by the collection.
Volunteer Grants – Offered through the Department of Social Services and the Families and Communities program, this funding supports the work of volunteers as well as encourage increased participation.
State Specific Funding
Individuals Fund (QLD) – Funds individual artists and cultural workers (emerging and established) to participate in transformational professional and career development opportunities. Up to $10,000 available.
Arts NSW Arts and Cultural Development Program (NSW) – Professional Development funding supports artists and arts/cultural workers based in NSW to engage in opportunities to grow their skills and practice, connect with peers, build sustainable careers, and take part in innovative collaborations.
