Homestead and collection
Lovingly restored by John and Liz Baker, the house and surrounding gardens have been transformed from a once dilapidated crumbling house to a beautiful country estate.
Avid collectors, John and Liz have filled their home with a range of Australiana ranging from table and oil lamps, china, tins, trophies, and oil paintings to farming tools and machinery.
The garden showcases an amazing array of flowers, native plants and trees and features an iris walk, pond and bog garden, stone bridge, labyrinth and nine standing stones. The surrounding paddock contains works by local sculptors of national acclaim as well as emerging artists. There are 75 different sculptures to admire in the garden and surrounding sculpture paddock. Can you find them all?
Travel in comfort by bus from Canberra to Old Graham and join John and Liz for an intimate tour of their home. Listen to their stories about restoring Old Graham, and the hidden treasures they found through the process. After the tour, explore the garden and sculpture paddock at your own leisure.
The bus leaves and returns to the Canberra Museum and Gallery.
Lunch will be provided by the Country Women’s Association and eaten in the picturesque garden, weather permitting. Settle in for a great day out and be sure to bring a camera.
