Come along to the pub for our first article club for 2018.

Get together to discuss articles (and sometimes videos and podcasts) relevant to the GLAM sector – just like a book club but with less reading!

This month we delve into the realm of artificial intelligence and how this might impact on museums and culture. How will our understanding of data and technology influence museums’ future programing and public offerings? To begin grappling with these questions:

  1. watch the first 30 min of the video linked below to hear ANU Professor Genevieve Bell’s keynote speech at the Institute of Public Administration (IPAA) ACT event, Artificial intelligence and the public sector: progress, possibilities and perils
  2. then relate Bell’s presentation to the American Alliance of Museum’s publication article: Museums at 2040 (PDF).

Hot snacks provided, but you buy your own drinks.
